Topic: “The New Katy Freeway”
Tanya is a Lead Planner/Public Involvement Specialist for PB Americas, Inc. PB Americas, Inc., one of the world's premier engineering consulting firms, is currently serving as the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) for the Texas Department of Transportation’s $2.8 billion Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program.
She is the Program’s Public Information Officer and is responsible for the development, implementation and quality assurance of the Public Information and Communications Program (PICP). She coordinates and supervises day-to-day activities related to the PICP and serves as a communication liaison among the GEC Project Staff, the State’s Houston District Public Information Office, Area Engineers, the general public and specifically affected constituencies.
Tanya is also responsible for the interface with key stakeholders, and elected officials and partnering agencies representing the interests of the Program at associated public meetings. Tanya is the primary point of contact for the media and directs all media relations. She is also responsible for the development of public outreach campaigns for major construction activities, weekly traffic control and program updates for the media and general public, provides community briefings on program status and upcoming activities, and facilitates special coordination with affected stakeholders and community and business groups.
